| Our Focus | The Junior League of Kankakee County's focus is on serving the needs of our community, especially young children and families. Our signature project, Simple ACTS (Assisting Children to Succeed) addresses many issues important to children and their families. Projects under this umbrella include providing winter outerwear to children in need, offering reading assistance in the schools, facilitating family literacy, publishing a free parenting magazine, visiting all new mothers at local hospitals and linking them to local parenting programs, and furnishing transitional housing units for families.
